Herbert Sington Cleveland, 86, of Arab, died Tuesday February 21, 2017 at Huntsville Hospital.
Mr. Cleveland was born January 4, 1931 in Marshall County to C.O. Cleveland and Pearl Moon Cleveland. He was a member of the U.S. Air Force and retired Civil Service from Redstone Arsenal. He and the former Jo Ann Parker were married for 65 years. He moved to Arab in 1963. He was instrumental in beginning the Arab Country Club, and was very active with CASA.
He was a member of the Arab First United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife Jo Ann Cleveland; his daughters and sons-in-law: Brenda Cleveland Hicox Allbritten and her husband John Allbritten and Kim Cleveland Lund and her husband Scott Lund; grandchildren: Wes and Toni Lund, Seth and Lauren Lund; great grandchildren: Scarlett Lund and Olivia Lund; a niece and nephew: Sandy Norman and David McClanahan. He was preceded in death by his parents: C.O. and Pearl Cleveland; a brother C.O. Cleveland Jr.; a sister Carolyn Cleveland McClanahan.
A Memorial Service will be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Arab First United Methodist Church Building Fund.
