Hazel May Gargis, 87, died Wednesday at her residence. Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Shady Grove Methodist Church in Ford City, Alabama. Burial is in Shady Grove Cemetery. Visitation is from 1-2 p.m. Sunday at the church. Spry Funeral Home is directing.
Mrs. Gargis was born May 24, 1929, in Colbert County, Alabama. She was a member of Shady Grove Methodist Church, a member of Ladies VFW, and she was a homemaker.
Survivors are son, Troy Gargis, of Ford City, Alabama; son-in-law, Kerry Black, of Ford City, Alabama; grandchildren, Randy Gargis, Mitch Black, Amanda Gargis-Smith, and Mitzi Sayas; and eight great-grandchildren. Special thank you to Kindred Hospice and staff.
She was preceded in death by husband, Raymond Gargis; daughter, Teresa Black; two brothers; and three sisters.
