John Paul Burgess 86, of Hartselle passed away Saturday, February 4, 2017 at his residence. Mr. Burgess was born May 12, 1930 in Morgan County, Alabama to James Henry and Lillian Parker Burgess. He retired from Wolverine Tube Inc. after 42 years of service. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. He was a past volunteer at the Hartselle Medical Center. He was a past member, president, vice-president and secretary of the Hartselle Kiwanis Club. Past member of the Morgan County Red Cross Board of Directors he was also past chairman of the Morgan County Red Cross Blood Program, he was District Chairman of Alabama District Key Clubs and was an advisor for the Hartselle Key Club for 15 years. He is preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be Monday at Hartselle Heritage Funeral Home. Funeral will be Tuesday at Bethel Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Andrews Chapel Cemetery. Hartselle Heritage is assisting the family.
