All this delectable goodness indicates it is time for the annual Spirit of Athens Chocolate Walk for Downtown Athens. The chocolate-shopping romance will be Saturday, Feb. 11, from 1-6 p.m. Tickets are $5 and are available by ordering online through Event Brite.
Several downtown merchants are participating, and this is but a sample of some of the sweet deals:
- Epiphany will have chocolate rosebuds and 20 percent off storewide.
- Square Clock Coffee will have brownie bites.
- CEI Bookstore will have chocolate dipped matzos, a book giveaway and other store specials.
- High Cotton Arts will have a popcorn bar with chocolate toppings, Valentine-themed artwork for sale and acoustical music from 2-4 p.m. by Sharpshooter, a band from the Shoals area.
- Crawford’s Gifts will have chocolate treats, 20 percent off storewide and a $25 gift card door prize drawing.
- Spirit of Athens Executive Director Melanie Newton said Spirit of Athens and Athens Saturday Market will have chocolate fondue and register for a $25 Saturday Market gift card and an individual membership for Spirit of Athens.
“The Chocolate Walk gives the Spirit of Athens an opportunity to provide a fun event for the community and for our merchants, boost their retail sales, which tend to drop off after the Christmas holidays,” said Spirit of Athens Promotions Chair Holly Hollman.
