Mrs. Nancy Couch Long, 70, of Florence, passed away January 27, 2017. She was a member of the Rotary Paul Harris Fellow; past President, Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary, Florence; past President, Knights of Columbus State of Alabama Ladies Auxiliary; member, St. Vincent De Paul Society; volunteer, St. Vincent De Paul Society Thrift Store; Parish Council Member, St. Joseph Catholic Church; active member of various organizations through St. Joseph Catholic Church; active supporter of Shoals Sav-A-Life, Shoals Theater, Kennedy-Douglas Center, and numerous other charitable and civic organizations.
Visitation will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. A mass of Christian burial will begin at 11 a.m. with Father Roy Runkle, priest of St. Joseph Catholic Church, officiating.
Mrs. Long was preceded in death by her father, Presley “Red” Couch; mother, Eardeal Perry Couch; and a sister, Margaret Joan Bradford.
She is survived by her husband, Roy Edgar Long; daughters, Nancy Michelle Greene and husband, Jason Greene, Denise Elizabeth Adams and husband, Paul Adams, Melissa Anne Gross and husband, Samuel Gross; sister, Margie Jean Eads; grandchildren, Elizabeth Adams, Michael Gross, John Gross, Grace Adams, Thomas Adams, Catherine Gross, and Ellie Greene.
Honorary pallbearers will be, Jason Greene, Paul Adams, Samuel Gross, Michael Gross, John Gross, and Thomas Adams.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Vincent De Paul Society Thrift Store.
