Miriam Marie Brake, age 95 of Brookside, went home to be with the Lord Monday January 16, 2017. She was a faithful member of Sharon Heights Baptist Church. She was retired from J.J. Newberry’s. She was born in Brookside, Alabama to the late John T. and Nova Brake.
Funeral service will be Saturday January 21, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Sharon Heights Baptist Church. Rev. Terry Trivette and Rev. Billy Hadley will officiate. Burial will follow at Bivens Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday from 7:00 pm until 8:30 pm and again Saturday beginning at 1:00 pm at the church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, Ethel Brake; Lois Stephenson; and Melba Benefield; four brothers, Jim Brake; Curtis L. Brake; Ray Brake; and Bennett Brake; one niece, Estell Teal.
She is survived by two nieces, Delilah Brake Green; and Donna Benefield Patman; five nephews, James Edward Brake; Curtis H. Brake; Jerry Brake; John B. Brake; and Johnny Ray Benefield; a special friend and neighbor, Randy Bensko.
