Robert Joseph Hand, age 69, of Cordova, passed away on Monday, January 16, 2017 at Walker Baptist Medical Center.

Robert was a long supporter of the American Red Cross Blood Drive, donating a total of 27 gallons to help those with leukemia. He dedicated his life to others every 56 days, making a life giving donation at the Birmingham and Jasper Blood Drives. He was cub scout master of Troop 157 of Cordova. He retired from Nelson Brothers as a hydraulic diesel mechanic.

Mr. Hand was preceded in death by his Parents-Marlin A. and Ora Lee Hand; Brothers-James Marlin Hand, Thomas Earl Hand and Charles A. Hand; Sister-Minnie Louise Allen; Son-John Walter Hand.

He is survived by his Wife of 50 years-Carrie Sue Pate Hand; Goddaughter-Kristie Allbritton of Cordova; Godson-Mark Wayne Allbritton of Cordova; Sister-Ruby Lois Murphy of Cordova; 3 Grandchildren.

Memorial services will be announced at a later time.
