Funeral Service for Mrs. Marie Cheatham Moore, age 87, of Decatur, will be Tuesday, January 17, 2017, 2:00 p.m. at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel, with Brother Gary Patton officiating. The family will receive friends Monday, January 16, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Raper Cemetery.
Mrs. Moore who died Sunday, January 15, 2017, at her residence, was born April 20, 1929, in Lawrence Co., to Alfred Henry Cheatham and Delphia Elizabeth Sterling Cheatham.
She was preceded in death by her husband James William Moore, her only grandson, Keith Allen Moore Jr. and 12 brothers and sisters.
Mrs. Moore was a 1947 graduate of Speake High School. She was a member of Austinville Church of Christ and retired from Big Bob Gibson at the age of 73.
She is survived by daughter Rhonda Moore Vest, son Keith Moore (Beverly), granddaughters, Mandy Moore Roper (Dwayne), Samantha Moore Green (Chris), and Katie Vest Liles, 4 great grandchildren, Marlee, Noah and Caleb Liles and Isabella Stephenson.
Pallbearers will be Dwayne Roper, Chris Green, Dale Drapeau, Allen Cheatham, Ray Osborne, Larry Cheatham, Wayman Cheatham and Hoyt Cheatham.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations to Hospice of North Alabama. They would also like to extend special thanks to Dr. Greg Cheatham, Hospice of North Alabama, River City Rehab and all the loving friends and family that would sit with her.
