Mr. Louis Lacy Baker, age 95 of Haleyville, Alabama passed away January 9, 2017 at Lakeland Community Hospital in Haleyville, Al.
He served in the US Army during World War II and was the oldest member of Pleasant Hill No. 2 Missionary Baptist Church in the Ashridge community. He was a retired equipment operator with the State of Alabama Highway Department.
Visitation is Thursday, January 12, 2017 from 6-9 p.m. at Pleasant Hill No.2 Missionary Baptist Church in the Ashridge community. The funeral service will be Friday, January 13, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the church, with Matthew Pharr, Mickey Crane and Jeffery Wiggins. He will lie in state from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. at the church. Burial in adjoining cemetery.
He is survived by his children, Louis R. Baker, Robert F. Baker, Beatrice Kaye Woods, William Lowell Baker; half sister, Janice Barron; 9 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren; a host of friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis Andrew and Mary Beatrice Wilson Baker; 1st wife, Mary Kathleen Baker; 2nd wife Juanita Baker; son, Kenneth Ladon Baker; brother, Lois Baker; sisters, Eva Chapman, Virda Wilson, Lucy Jane Rogers, Maryellen Baker and half brother, Buddy Baker.
