Buford G. “Buddy” Gooch, age 75 of Tuscumbia, died Monday, January 9, 2017.
His family will receive friends Wednesday, 1-3 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Truman Kimbrough and Bro. Phil Waldrep officiating. Burial will be in Colbert Memorial Gardens.
Buddy was a Colbert County native and was retired from Reynolds Alloys after thirty-three years of service. He was a member of Isbell Chapel Missionary Baptist Church and enjoyed fishing, camping, gardening, Alabama football and especially his grand and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Buford and Jennie Gooch and sister Jane Gray.
Survivors include his wife of fifty-four years; Barbara Gooch of Tuscumbia, sons; Barry Gooch and wife Rhonda of Florence, Brian Gooch and wife LeAnn of Tuscumbia, sisters; Ann Skidmore of Sheffield, Linda West of Tuscumbia, four grandchildren; Ryan, Cody, Tanner and Madison, two great grandchildren, Alice and James.
Pallbearers are Tony Gray, Steve Skidmore, Terry Lenz, Brad Johnson, Jason West,
Kenneth Harrison, Jimmy Black and Charles Irons.
The family expresses special thanks to all the nurses and doctors of Helen Keller ICU, for their exceptional love and care for Buddy and all of the family.
