Cindi Kennedy Whitworth passed away Saturday, Jan. 7, 2017, in Jasper, Alabama at the age of 56.

Cindi is survived by her loving husband of 32 years, David Whitworth; daughter, Hillary Whitworth (Dee Kennedy); step-son, Robert Whitworth; sister, Paula Ruffino (Anthony);, along with countless loving family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Gerald and Pauline Kennedy.

Cindi opened Walker County Electrolysis at English Village in 1979. Expanding her salon to include tanning beds, Cindi’s business was a cornerstone of English Plaza when the ribbons were cut in 1984. She was named Business Woman of the Year, and kept her business at the forefront of its industry.

In its prime, Walker County Electrolysis saw over 300 customers per day. To Cindi though, each person that walked through the door was a friend. Her energy and charm were infectious. She carried that light with her wherever she went and never met a stranger.

Loving mother and wife, loyal friend and family member, Cindi will live on in the memories of all who knew and loved her.

A graveside service will be held January 10 at Walker Memory Gardens at 2 p.m., with Jerry Key officiating. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the City of Jasper Animal Shelter at 2302 Birmingham Avenue, Jasper, AL 35501.

“She was imperfect. She made mistakes. But she was her best self more often than it’s reasonable for any human to be.” — Strayed
