Mary Jo Bull Orman – Obituary

Mary Jo Bull Orman, 76, of Tuscumbia, died January 6, 2017. The family will receive friends at Tuscumbia Church of Christ on Monday from 11:00-1:00. Her funeral service will follow at 1:00 with Jeff Abrams officiating. Burial will be in Knights of Pythias Cemetery in Russellville.

Mary Jo was born April 2, 1940. She was the wife of the late William M. (Bill) Orman to whom she was married for over 50 years. She was a homemaker and owner of Cold Water Antiques in Tuscumbia. She grew up in Bear Creek, Alabama.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her father, John L. Bull, stepfather, Edward Hall, her sister, Carolyn Williams Marshall, brother-in-law Albert E. Williams, and niece, Amy Williams.

Survivors include her mother, Juanita Lauderdale Bull Hall, Tuscumbia; sons, Mark Orman, Columbia, Tennessee, Allen (Amy) Orman, Decatur; grandchildren, Elizabeth (Matt) Parker, John Edward, Virginia, Victoria, William, and Andrew Orman; great-grandchildren, Madalynn Hughes and Hope, Xander, and Wyatt Parker; nieces, Susan Williams and Betsey (Jesse) Williams Whitt; great-niece, Jolee Whitt; and a large extended family.

Mrs. Orman was active in many organizations, including Governor’s Staff (1963-1979 and 1983-1987), American Red Cross, Colbert County Election Commission, Lambda Chi Alpha Crescents, and was president of a local chapter of the Red Hats Club. She earned a degree in interior design from UNA in 1984 and was a member of Tuscumbia Church of Christ where she taught Sunday school and participated in the activities conducted by the ladies of the church.

Pallbearers will be members of the family.

Memorials may be made to Tuscumbia Church of Christ youth ministry.
