Graveside service for Sandra Fitzgerald Pickens, 73, of Hartselle will be Saturday, Jan. 7, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Herring Cemetery with Brother Danny Pitts officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Pickens, who died Monday, Jan. 2, 2017 at her residence, was born Aug. 8, 1943, in Morgan County to Ralph Fitzgerald and Mary Alice King Fitzgerald. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Pickens; two sons, Paul and John “J.D.” Pickens and her parents. Mrs. Pickens held a Doctorate degree in business administration and was a lifelong entrepreneur and business owner.
Survivors include one daughter, Dee Dee Jones (Randy) of Oxford, Mississippi; two sisters, Virginia Fitzgerald White and Danni Francis Fitzgerald, both of Hartselle; two grandchildren, Jenna Ursic and Drew Ursic; numerous cousins.
Pallbearers will be Mark Ursic, Mack Fitzgerald, Joe Fitzgerald, Ronald Fitzgerald, Jim Stephenson, Jim Mangum, Sam Mangum and Roger King.
In lieu of flowers, make donations to the Breast Cancer Foundation.
