Road Over Wilson Dam Closed

THE SHOALS-TVA will close the roadway across Wilson Dam beginning on Thursday, January 5 for maintenance and the upcoming cold weather.

Sub-freezing temperatures will most likely cause hazardous driving conditions across the dam.  The dam road should stay closed for the remainder of the week when weather conditions should improve and also to allow the Tennessee Valley Authority to perform maintenance on equipment.

Drivers are directed to Singing River Bridge as an alternate route.  The road over the dam is scheduled to reopen January 12.
