Donnie E. Turner was born March 26, 1955, to the late Willie A. Turner and Robert L. Turner of Florence, Alabama. He accepted Jesus Christ at an early age and was a member of Mt. Moriah Primitive Baptist Church until he rededicated his life to Christ and became a member of New Birth Ministries. He graduated from Bradshaw High School, class of 1973.

He was married to Ernestine Woods and to this union three children were born. He had numerous career choices over the years but worked for over 20 years for the Florence City school system.

Mr. Turner was preceded in death by his mother, Willie A. Turner, and his brother, Howard M. Turner.

Mr. Turner leaves to cherish his memories a devoted father, Robert L. Turner; five children, Lasonda (Michael) Stanford, Jeremiah Thompson, Aisha “Janell” (Ricardo) Williams, Kiszey (Kanelia) Golden, and Christopher Turner; one brother, Apostle Robert (Janice) Turner; and one sister, Arlene Turner Dawson; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. In addition, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends cherish his memory.

Funeral services for Mr. Turner will be noon Friday, Jan. 6, 2017, at Mt. Moriah Primitive Baptist Church, Florence, Alabama.

Apostle Robert Turner is officiating.

Elder Leroy Sawyer is the pastor.

Burial is in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Florence, Alabama.

The body will be placed in the church at 11 a.m.

The public viewing will be Thursday, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Thompson and Son Funeral Home, Florence, is directing.
