Ellen Ruth Gallien Ellis, 87, of Florence, passed away January 1, 2017 at E.C.M. Hospital. She was a member of Whitten’s Crossroads Methodist Church, Wayne County, Tenn.

Visitation will be Wednesday, January 4, 2017 from 12-2 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Kenny Windsor officiating. Burial will follow in Greenview Memorial Park.

Mrs. Ellis was preceded in death by her husband, James Phillip Ellis; step-grandson, Jeffery Lynn Ellis; and a step-great-grandson, Nathaniel James Ellis; and parents, Clarence and Mae Gallien.

She is survived by her sisters, Marcie Faye Foxx, Imogene Gallien Womble, Helen Mae Byler, and Maudie Elaine Gallien; step-children, Sherry Henning (Greg), Vickie Radar (Randy), James Phillip Ellis, II (Sandra), Rhonda Ellis Howell (Randy), and Daniel Wayne Ellis (Sheila); step-grandchildren, Phil Ellis (Chanda), Mikey Ellis, Leslie Milner (Rob), and Alana Ellis; step-great-grandchildren, Ethan Ellis, Will Milner, Avery Milner, Landon Cantrell, Evie Fowlkes, and Mason Ellis; nieces and nephews, Patricia Foxx Young (Charles), Edgar D. Byler III, James Dwight Foxx, Rena Foxx Cannon (Bart), Karen Foxx Michael, Whit Hendrix; and numerous, great nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Pallbearers will include: Eddie Byler, Bart Cannon, Jonathan Cannon, Dwight Foxx, Charles Young, and Chuck Young.

The family wishes to express gratitude and thanks to: Christy, Gloria, Diana, and the nurses at E.C.M. Hospital 6th floor palliative care.
