Mrs. Earnestine Rebecca Broaden passed Saturday, Dec. 24, 2016.
Funeral services for Mrs. Broaden will be 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 30, 2016, at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, Tuscumbia, Alabama. Reverend Keeton Stewart is officiating. The public viewing will be today, noon-8 p.m.
Thompson and Son Funeral Home, Tuscumbia, is directing.
Earnestine Rebecca Broaden was born July 11, 1946, in Colbert County, Alabama. She was the fifth of nine children born to the late Mariah J. Garner and Eddie Garner. She departed this earthly life Saturday, Dec. 24, 2016.
She confessed hope in Jesus Christ at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church at an early age. While a member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, she served on the Mother’s Board, Usher Board, and Missionary Society.
Earnestine was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Broaden, of Sheffield, Alabama, and also five siblings, David Garner and Fredrick Garner, both of Tuscumbia, Alabama, Arthur Garner, of Sheffield, Alabama, Dorothy Walker, of Buffalo, New York, and Eddie Luke Garner, of Tuscumbia, Alabama.
Earnestine leaves to cherish her memories one son, Keith (Bridgett) Garner, Muscle Shoals, Alabama; two grandchildren, Justin (Kayla) Garner, Madison, Alabama, and Darius Garner, of Muscle Shoals, Alabama; one great-grandchild, Kaylee Harris; one brother, Ronald (Alice) Garner, of Tuscumbia, Alabama; three sisters, Sadie Malone, of Sheffield, Alabama, Bessie Haley, of Cypress Cove Assisted Living of Muscle Shoals, Alabama, and Janice Ricks, of Florence, Alabama; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.
