Mrs. Segars died on Friday, December 23, 2016 at Falkville Health Care Center. She was born Friday, July 9, 1926, in Morgan County to and . Ruth Owens Segars, age 90, of Hartselle, joined her husband and love of her life, Harvey Segars, in Heaven for Christmas on December 23, 2016. She will be missed by her family and many friends. Funeral services will be Friday, December 30, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel at Peck Funeral Home in Hartselle. Visitation will be at the funeral home at 10 a.m. the day of the funeral. Services will be officiated by Rev. Harold Thompson. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren. Ruth is survived by four sons, Frank (Julia), Mike (Marlena), Joe (Rosa) and Tommy (Kristi), five grandchildren, Joey, Todd, Angie, Stephanie and Timmy; 15 great-grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. She will be laid to rest next to Harvey at Forrest Chapel Cemetery following the service. The family would like to sincerely thank the staff at Falkville Health Care Center for loving and taking care of Ruth for the last years of her stay on this earth. She loved everyone at FHCC and considered them an extension of her family.
