Doris Jefferies Rutherford, 75, of Florence, passed away Friday, Dec. 23, 2016. Visitation will be Monday, Dec. 26th from 6 until 9 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Central Heights. The funeral service will be Tuesday, Dec. 27th at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Billy George officiating. Burial will be at Old Macedonia Cemetery.
Mrs. Rutherford was born in Colbert County on Sept. 8, 1941. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rob and Lizzie Jefferies; five brothers; and four sisters.
Doris is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, James Rutherford; four daughters, Linda Faulkner (Phillip), Sandra Woods (Steve), Janice Neal (Mike), and Sherry Chambers (Michael); three grandsons; two granddaughters; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters; and a special friend of 46 years, Barbara Gray.
Pallbearers will be her sons-in-law with her grandsons as honorary pallbearers, Phillip Faulkner, Steve Woods, Mike Neal, Michael Chambers, Quentin Woods, Nathan Faulkner, Kane Chambers, and Terry Woods.
