Sandra Lee Clem Dobbins, of Florence, Alabama, and formerly of Birmingham, Alabama, passed away on Wednesday evening, Dec. 14, 2016. She gave everything to everyone and took nothing for herself in her 55 years. She was everything good.

“Sandy” was born in Huntsville, Alabama on May 1, 1961, and grew up close with her younger sister Melissa. In college at age 25, she met her future husband Donnie and instantly was in love. A short couple of years later, she and Donnie got married. In their 31 years of marital bliss, they raised four sons and continued to raise her nieces when Melissa passed.

Sandy loved to share her artistic hobbies of folk art, murals, ceramics, and pottery with her sons, her grandchildren, and her many friends.

In addition to her sister Melissa, Sandy was predeceased by her father, Buford Wayne Clem. She is survived by her husband Donnie; her mother, Ruby Butler Clem; four sons, Butler S. Dobbins, Hunter D. Dobbins, Matthew D. Dobbins, and Drew Dobbins; and four grandchildren, Andrew Dobbins, Natalie Dobbins, Anna Dobbins, and Christain Dobbins. The birth of Sandy’s fifth grandchild is expected in mid-Jan. 2017.

Sandy’s family and friends celebrated her life and legacy at a memorial service at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 18, 2016, at Riverchase United Methodist Church, 1953 Old Montgomery Highway, Hoover, AL 35244.
