Ernestine Gandy, age 82, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 15, 2016, at her residence.
The visitation will be noon-2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 18, 2016, at Spry Memorial Chapel with the funeral following at 2 p.m. in the chapel. Officiating will be Brother Eddie Wix and Brother Richard Parker. Burial will be at Tharptown Cemetery.
She was preceded in death by her son, Greg Gandy; infant daughter; parents, George and Annie Lewey; and brother, Jerry Lewey.
She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 62 years, Ralph Gandy; daughters, Brenda Hunt (husband, Kreg) and Teresa Mitchell (husband, Mike); grandchildren, April Gandy, Amanda Logan, Russell Logan, Ashley Gandy, Caleb Mitchell, and Jared Mitchell; great-grandchildren, Simeon Broome, Levi Bryant, Malachi Minor, and Uriah Thompson; siblings, Shirley Scott, Villious Lewey, and Marveline Hardin; and a host of nieces and nephews.
The pallbearers will be Terry Powell, Gary Powell, Ricky Powell, Steven Scott, Keith Green, and Hunter Lewey.
The family would like to extend a thanks to Keller Hospice and Heather Mims, and an extra special thanks to Amy Davis for the great care of our mother and grandmother.
