Nelson Rivers Starkey IV, age 23, passed away surrounded by his family and loving friends at Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital on Thursday, Dec. 15, 2016. Visitation will be Monday, Dec. 19, from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Highland Baptist Church of Florence. The service will follow at 1 p.m. at the church. A private committal service will follow at Florence City Cemetery.
He was the son of Nelson Rivers Starkey III (Trey) and Jeanna Aycock Starkey.
In lieu of flowers, the family asked that donations be made to The Shepherd Center at 2020 Peachtree Road NW, Atlanta GA 30309-1465 where he spent the last 11 months of his life for extensive rehabilitation and therapy or to Riverhill School at 2826 Co. Rd. 30, Florence, AL 35634 where he attended school.
