Funeral service for Mrs. Billie LouElla Gray Smith, age 88, of Fayetteville, will be conducted 1 p.m. Monday, December 19, 2016 at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Andy Erwin and Bro. David Sain officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Memorial Gardens. She was the daughter of the late William Brown Gray, Sr. and Mattie Dennis Vanzant Gray.

Mrs. Smith was a native of Franklin County, Tennessee and worked as a switch board operator with Bell South for many years. She was one of the last members at Molino Church of Christ and currently a member at West Fayetteville Church of Christ. Mrs. Smith enjoyed crocheting, shopping, cooking for her family and was “Nana” to her dear grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband of 70 years, Glenis B. Smith; sons Tim (Kathy) Smith and Bret G. Smith all of Fayetteville; grandchildren Eric Smith, Krista (Bobby) Griffin, Kimberly (Eddie) Mills, Matthew (April) Smith, Ben Smith, and Keith Smith; great-grandchildren Gregory Griffin, Caroline Mills, Gracie Mills, Mattie Smith, Ella Kate Mills, Donovan Gray Smith, and Bentlee Smith; half-brother William Robert (Karen) Gray; and a niece Sherrie (Joe) Teal. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by a brother Brown Gray, Jr. and granddaughter-in-law Amanda Porter Smith.

Visitation with the family will be 4 until 7 p.m. Sunday at Higgins Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Bank of Lincoln County, c/o Mattie and Bentlee Smith in honor of Amanda Porter Smith, Breast Cancer Awareness, Tennessee Childrens Home, American Diabetes Association, American Heart Association or the St. Judes Childrens Hospital.
