Funeral services for Quitman Henderson, 90, will be Monday Dec. 12, 2016, at 2 p.m at Johnson Chapel United Methodist Church with Tom Salter and Renee Garlen officiating. Visitation will be Monday, Dec. 12, 2016, from noon until 2 p.m. at the Johnson Chapel United Methodist Church.
Mr. Henderson died Saturday, Dec. 10, 2016, at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was born on Sept. 15, 1926, in Covington County, Alabama to James David and Polly Adams Henderson. Mr. Henderson was retired from the Decatur City school system where he worked from 1959 until 1984 as an educator and administrator. He received his Bachelor of Science from Florence State Teachers college and his master’s from Auburn University.
Mr. Henderson was a former member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church and a current member of Johnson Chapel United Methodist Church.
Survivors include wife, Ann Puckett Henderson, Danville; son, David Q. Henderson (Sheree), Danville; two grandchildren, Jason Henderson (Kelly) and Kirk Henderson (McKenzie); and three great-grandchildren, Callie, Kinley, and Anslea Henderson.
