Melba Vernell Strickland Dye, age 84, longtime resident of Eva, Alabama lost her battle against pneumonia, heart disease and kidney disease on 12/9/2016 in Guntersville, AL. Born on 9/29/1932 to Homer and Ruby Johnson Strickland in Fairview, she was a faithful and very active member of Daniel’s Chapel Baptist Church.
She was a hard-working, devoted and very loved mother to her daughters. Known for her generous heart, big beautiful flower gardens, delicious feasts, and wonderful gatherings – she was beloved by all.

Daughters Pam Tournaud and spouse David Tournaud of Clarkson, KY, Kay Dye and spouse Robin Estell of Athens, AL, Linda Beasley and spouse Randall Beasley of Guntersville, AL
Grandchildren: Melanie Watts Armstrong, Misty Watts Glass, Nicholas Tournaud, Todd Morgan, Alyssa Morgan, Michael Higdon, Kara Jackson Johnson and Austin Coots
