Betty Jean Martindale age 83 of Athens, passed away Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at her residence. Mrs. Martindale was born April 30, 1933 in Jacksonville, FL to Thomas Theodore Sheffield and Willie Mae Allen Sheffield.
Services will be Saturday, December 10, 2016 11:30 a.m., at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Bro. George Whitten officiating. Visitation will be Saturday, from 9:30 a.m. until 11:15 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will be in Limestone Memorial Gardens.
Preceded in death by her husband, James Duwayne Martindale; her parents, Thomas Theodore and Willie Mae Sheffield; one sister, Lois Grodan; one brother, Jim Sheffield.
Survived by two sons, William Allen Martindale and wife, Julie and Clarence Merrill Martindale; two grandsons, Justin Allen Martindale and wife, Liz and Ricky Duwayne Martindale; one great-granddaughter, Kallie Martindale; one step-grandson, Jeffrey Alexander; three brothers, Donald Sheffield, Bill Sheffield and Thomas Sheffield; one sister, Mary Morgan; several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Justin Martindale, Pat Preston, Johnny Baugher, Alvie Bates, Berry McAlister and David Acklin.
