Vernon Lee Burgess, 76, of Florence, AL, passed away December 5, 2016, at University of Alabama Birmingham Hospital. Mr. Burgess was a retired logger, saw miller, and welder, and a member of the Church of Christ faith.

Son: Christopher Lee Burgess and wife Janie
Daughters: Amanda Burgess Haddock and husband Spencer & Skyler Burgess
Brothers: Jerry Burgess and Ernest Burgess and wife Judy
(8) Grandchildren- Josh Keeton, Colby Burgess, Allie Haddock, Spencer Haddock, Bradley Burgess, Alexis Burgess, Christian Burgess, and Madalyn Burgess
(1) Great-grandchild- Ragan Keeton
He was preceded in death by his parents Alvin Eugene Burgess and Alma Pauline Lawson Burgess; brothers Eugene and Douglas Burgess; and sister Catherine Burgess.
Visitation will be Thursday, December 8, 2016 from 10:00-11:00 A.M. at Greenhill Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 A.M. in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Tim Grigsby officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Tabor Cemetery.
