Frank Harold “Hoover” McConnell passed away Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2016, after an extended illness.
Mr. McConnell was a native of Lauderdale County, Alabama. He served in the United States Navy. He retired from Reynolds Metal Company.
Visitation will be Thursday, Dec. 8, 2016, from 1-2 p.m. at Rogersville Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow in the chapel. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Johnny Ray Wilbanks, Jason Wilbanks, Carl Watters, Barry Watters, Dan Osborne, and David Kizer.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Estelle McConnell; sister, Winifred Joy Sherwin; 29 nieces and nephews; numerous great and great-great-nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Linda Chambers; brother-in-law, Jimmy Jones; and special hunting and fishing buddy, Price McNatt. He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis Andrew and Iva Pearl McConnell; beloved family dog, Butch; brothers, Marvin, Charlie Almon, Rufus Albert, James Vilos, Louie Lee, and Clayton “Bill” McConnell; sisters, Myrtle Mae McGraw, Mamie Gertrude Cockrell, Estie Belle Nix, Leona Agonia, Maudie Nadine Thompson, and Lina Belle St. Clair; brothers-in-law, Houston “Dean” Chambers and Jimmy Chambers; and sister-in-law, Sue Jones.
