Charles David “Charlie” James, 75, passed away Friday, December 2, 2016.
Mr. James was a proud native of East Florence “Sweet Water” and a resident of Muscle Shoals. He was retired from T. V. A. Brown’s Ferry Nuclear Plant after 25 years of service as a Teamster and Job Steward.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Thomas James and Sarah Louise Waller James and brother, Jimmy James. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Irene James; son, Chad James; daughter, Tonya Green; son-in-law, Jason Green; granddaughter, Bronwyn Green; siblings, Greta Richardson, Bobby James, E. W. James, Larry James, Gary James, Melba Waldrep, Debby Keenum, and Toby James; and dear friend, Diane King.
Mr. James was a kind and patient man who loved family, music, story-telling, and children. He took special joy from “adopting” angels each Christmas. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you adopt a Salvation Army Christmas Angel or make a donation to the Ronald McDonald House in memory of his loving and generous spirit. A memorial service to celebrate his life will begin at 2 p.m., Sunday, December 11th at Morrison’s Funeral Home, Tuscumbia.
