francesFuneral for Gayle Rogers Wright, 73, of Decatur will be Thursday, Dec. 1st at 2 p.m. at Central Baptist Church in Decatur with Dr. Rob Jackson and Brother Brian Blass officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. at the church, funeral will follow. Gayle passed away on Nov. 28th at UAB Hospital.

She was born Dec. 19, 1942 to Dempsey Wade Rogers and Virginia Neville Rogers. She was a member of Central Baptist Church since 1965 and was devoted to her church. She was involved in many areas of the church, worked part time as a church secretary and for 25 years she worked along with Dr. Roland Guice in his medical practice.

She was a longtime member of friendship Sunday school class, Four Seasons Garden Club, and the Fab Four!

Gayle was preceded in death by her parents and also by her brother, James Wade Rogers “Jimmy.”

She is survived by her children’s father, Tommy Wright; son, Tom Wright (Gayla); daughter, Lori Wright Jackson (Keith); grandchildren, Scarlett Virginia Wright, Meagan Elizabeth Beck, Ashley Jackson Thomas (Brent), Emily Jackson Stipe (Wes), Matthew Puckett (Pepper), Chanté Thomas (Kenneth); great-grandchildren, Jackson and Mason Thomas, Livingston Stipe, Lilly Thomas and Aiden Puckett; sister, Susan Rogers Basden; brothers, Steven Tyler Rogers and John Neville Rogers; four precious cousins that were like sisters and other cousins, nieces and nephews.

She adored her family and was proud of them ALL.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Central Baptist Church Building Fund.

Services will be under the direction of Roselawn Funeral Home.
