Willie Arlee Tate, age 95, passed away Sunday, Nov. 28, 2016.
Visitation will be Wednesday, November 30, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Spry-Williams Funeral Home, Florence. The service will follow at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Brother Stan Dean officiating. Interment will be at Bluewater Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Nick Allen, Chad Bevis, Corey Bevis, Matt Agee, Brock Tate, and Josh Lowe.
Mr. Tate was retired from Reynolds and also a retired farmer. A U.S. Army veteran, he served in World War II and was in the Normandy Invasion. He was a member of Bluewater Primitive Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jewel Tate.
Survivors include his six children,
Janice Allen (Ray), Randall Tate (Evenlyn), Vickie Spurling (Gary), Denise Bevis, David Tate, and Cindy Agee (Ricky);
13 grandchildren; and
17 great-grandchildren.
