Coleton Wayne Smith, 18, passed away Friday, Nov. 25, 2016.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2016, at noon at Salem Springs Baptist Church with Phillip Springer officiating. Visitation will be today from 6-9 p.m. at Salem Springs Baptist Church. Burial will be in the New Salem Cemetery.
Cole was preceded in death by granddaddy, Melvin Etheredge; and great-grandparents, Lewis Graves, Bessie Graves, Leonard Smith, Mammie Smith, Albert Borden, Ora Borden, Benjamin Etheredge, and Eva Etheredge.
Cole is survived by his parents, Brad and Missy Smith, one brother, Easton Smith, and one sister, Emilee Smith, all of Lester; grandparents, Syble Etheredge, of Athens, and Wayne and Joyce Smith, of Lester; and numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins.
Cole was a senior at West Limestone High School. He loved his Lord, family, and friends. He was a member of Salem Springs Baptist Church and a member of the youth group for many years. He had a passion for football, and he excelled at it. He played baseball, and he also loved hanging out with his friends, and he rarely met a stranger.
Pallbearers will be Brayden Craig, Chase Lancaster, Jackson Gowan, Reed Blankenship, Cody Smith, Austin Hobson, Alex Maples, Reed Walker, Colt Pugh, and Nick Freeman.
Honorary pallbearers will be Kelton Craig, Andrew Thornton, Bryson Leopard and Tanner Walker, Jordan Cantrell, David Arnsparger, Will McDaniel, Eathan Whiteside, Matt Morris, Bryan Jach, Caleb McConnell, and Stills Whitaker.
