Virginia Dare Hurst Snodgrass – Obituary

Virginia Dare Hurst Snodgrass was born in Chester County, Tennessee on July 29, 1920 the daughter of the late T. R. and Ethel Rowland Hurst.

On August 12, 1936 she was united in marriage to Homer F. Snodgrass, who preceded his wife in death on January 6, 2001.

Mrs. Snodgrass was the bookkeeper for 30 years for Tennessee Vocational School in Crump, Tennessee and she was owner of Savannah Shoe Store for 15 years. She also had worked for the post office in Washington, D.C. Mrs. Snodgrass was a member of Crump First Baptist Church. She enjoyed quilting, cooking, flowers, antiquing and doing her church work. Mrs. Snodgrass loved going to the mountains in Gatlinburg, Tennessee and Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. The one thing she loved the most was being with her grandchildren.

She departed this life on November 22, 2016 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 96 years, 3 months and 24 days.

Mrs. Snodgrass is survived by her son, Danny Snodgrass and his wife Barbara of Huntsville, Alabama.

seven great grandchildren, James Cody Cox, Ashton Gilpin, Izabela Partan, Clay Partan, Periscilla White, Isaac Snodgrass and Oliver Snodgrass

one brother, Hawthorne Hurst of Waynesboro, Tennessee

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one brother, Dr. Fiedon Hurst.
