Mrs. Jessie Conn Crabtree, formerly of Guntersville, but a patient of a nursing facility in Birmingham, went to be with the lord on Sunday. She was born in Attalla, Alabama as the only daughter of Charles T. and Jewel Conn. She attended schools in Attalla and graduated from Etowah High School. She attended Judson College and received a B.A. degree in 1960 with a major in English and Psychology. In 1966 she received a M.A. degree in major guidance from the University of Alabama. She did futher studies at Florida state University. She was registered by the State of Alabama and Auburn University as a Psychometrist. She taught school in Decatur, Ga., Titusville, Fl., Florence, Al. ,Mobile, Al., and Huntsville, Al. In Huntsville she was chairman of the guidance department in 1968-1971 at Butler High School. in 1972 She was the vocation counselor for Huntsville City Schools.
In 1972 she married Edward Wilson Crabtree, Jr., of Guntersville, and they moved to Mobile, Alabama. In Mobile she was guidance counselor at Bayer High School. She attended Westminister Presbyterian Church. in 1993 she and the family returned to Guntersville. She was a member of of the Guntersville First Presbyterian Church and a member of DAR. She retired in 2000 as the guidance counselor at Madison County High School n Gurley, Alabama.
She is survivedby her husband Edward Wilson Crabtree Jr.; daughter Jennifer Crabtree; son Edward Conn Crabtree(Sarah); brother John Conn(Alice). She was preceded in death by her mother and father and Brother Charles.
The Funeral Service will be Tuesday at 11:00am at Guntersville First Presbyterian Church. The burial will be in Marshall Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to the Guntersville Presbyterian Church.
