Blanche Cummings Cresap (Mama Cresap), 94, passed away Thursday, November 17, 2016, at her home. She was born May 14, 1922, in Burnsville to Christopher “Doc” and Frances Cummings. She was a member of Saltillo Methodist Church. She was a resident of the Nettleton Hunting and Fishing Club where she spent her retirement years with her husband of 72 years, James Hershel Cresap, who died in 2013. Known by most of her family and friends as “Mama Cresap”, she loved cooking for her family and the community.
Graveside services will be at 1:00 p. m. Saturday, November 19, at the White Sulphur Springs Cemetery at Pickwick Landing State Park with Buddy Tennison and Shay Guess officiating. McNeece-Morris Funeral Home of Fulton is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include four sons, Jimmie Cresap (Frances) of Eupors, Roy Cresap (Brenda) of Fulton, Troy Cresap (Beth), and David Cresap (Sharron) , both of Amory; ten grandchildren, Bill Cresap, Mike Cresap, Leigh Ryan- Mayo, Jody Ryan Wilson, Daniel Cresap, Zach Cresap, John Cresap, Brad Cresap, Brian Cresap, and Suzanne Chancelor; sixteen great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews, and a very special caregiver, Sheila Rhoden.
She was preceded in death by her parents, twelve siblings, and her loving husband.
Pallbearers will be her seven grandsons.
