Gladys Todd Jones 88, of Cherokee, passed away Wednesday, November 9, 2016. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. until 11:00a.m. Friday, November 11, 2016 at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia, AL. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home chapel. Burial will be at Colbert Memorial Gardens. Dr. Rudy Guess will officiate.
She was born October 12, 1928 to E.H. and Edna Talley. She graduated from Cherokee High School in 1947. She married Lewis Todd in June of 1947 and raised two daughters with love. She was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Gladys is survived by daughters Sheila Carpenter (Jim) of Cherokee, AL and Debra Roberson of Sheffield, AL; grandsons Jamie Carpenter and Drew Carpenter (Lauren); granddaughter Tallie Davis (Nathern)of Asheville, North Carolina; five great-grandchildren: Taylor, Timothy, Tristen, Austin, and Madison; one great-great-granddaughter Jaycee; sisters Ruth Denton of Florence, AL and Mae Yarbrough of Pensacola, FL; brothers Claude Talley of Cherokee, AL and Vernon Talley of Killen.
She was preceded in death by her parents E.H. and Edna Talley, her first husband Lewis (Pete) Todd and second husband Ed Jones; sister Ella Sprague, brother Billy Talley, and grandson Todd Layne.
Pallbearers will be Jim Carpenter, Jamie Carpenter, Drew Carpenter, Tristen Parker, Kendrick Burns, and Larry Pounders.
