Funeral service for Lecil Malcolm Arnold, age 85, of Florence, will be Friday, November 11, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at First Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Florence, with Rev. Dwayne McDuff officiating, and Greenview Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends Thursday, November 10, 2016, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at Greenview Funeral Home. Interment will be in Railroad Cemetery, Iron City, Tennessee.
Mr. Arnold, who died Tuesday, November 8, 2016, at ECM Hospital, was born June 30, 1931, in Franklin County, to Rubin and Carolyn Arnold. He graduated from Coffee High School. He earned his Eagle Scout Award his senior year. He graduated from Auburn University where he earned a Civil Engineering degree. He was a member of Theta Xi Fraternity. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy and in the Korean War. He was employed with Paxton Alexander Engineering and TVA.
Mr. Arnold was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Connie Culver-Arnold; daughters, Paige Lathem, and Ashley (Bill) Mitchell; grandchildren, Bailey and Parker Lathem, Sarah Katherine, William, and Walker Mitchell; and many friends.
Pallbearers for Mr. Arnold will be Christopher Cassel, Jimmy Cassel, Philip Gambrell, PJ Gambrell, Parker Lathem, and Bill Mitchell.
Memorials may be made to the Childrens’ Logos Program in which he was active for many years at his church.
