Norene Ming Inmon, 85, died Saturday, October 29, 2016, at Oak Tree Manor in Amory, MS, after an extended illness. She was born on August 28, 1931, to Hubert and Fleeta Bethay Ming in Itawamba County, MS. She was a graduate of Fulton High School and lived in Lee and Itawamba County the majority of her life. In her working life she enjoyed sewing and was the manager over the sewing department at Inmon Furniture Company that she and husband started and ran successfully for many years in Shannon, MS. She was a talented singer and loved praise and worship, and was a faithful member of Nettleton Pentecostal Church for many years. She loved spending time with and spoiling her grandchildren.
A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at 6:00 PM Tuesday, November 1, 2016, at the Nettleton Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors with Bro. Jordan Davis officiating. Private burial will be at Jones Chapel Cemetery in Nettleton, MS. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until service time Tuesday only at the Nettleton Chapel.
She is survived by her daughter, Patti Guin (Jason) of Plantersville; her step-daughter, Rhonda Vaughn (Mike) of Hatley, MS; her step-son, Ricky Joe Inmon (Tammy) of Nettleton, MS; Two Sisters, Charlotte Waltz of Birmingham, AL and Katherine Allen of Amory, MS; 9 grandchildren, Jason Foster, Timothy Foster (Ashley), Derrick Strawn, Joseph Guin, Lily Guin, Brandon Inmon, Chris McKay, Dustin McKay and Carrie Duvall; 8 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband Sammy Joe Inmon on Feb. 15, 2013, her parents; her first husband, Harmon “Junior” Strawn; her son, Randy Strawn; her daughter, Kathy Foster; her step-son, Randal Inmon; her brother Carl Ming; her sister Christine Matthews and her granddaughter, Rita Foster.
