Phyllis Britt Williams, 59, passed away Saturday, October 29, 2016, at her home. She was born September 20, 1957 to the late Doyce Britt and the late Ruth Gregory Britt in Pontotoc County. She married Joe Williams on May 14, 1977, and he survives.
Also surviving are daughter, Vicki (Blake) Christian of Fulton, brother, Doyce (Carol) Britt, Jr. of Amory, 3 sisters, Ruby (Jim) Taylor of GA, Linda (Alvin) Griffin of Pontotoc, Faye (Keith) Hodges of TN, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers, J.C. Britt, Larry Britt, and Travis Britt.
Phyllis was a long time resident of Itawamba County, where she taught sixteen years in the public schools. Teaching was her passion. Even after she retired because of poor health, she still saw herself as a teacher.
Despite being confined at home, she used her talent for scrap booking to create birthday and get-well cards for others.
Senter Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
Services will be at 10:00 am on Tuesday November 1, 2016 at Senter Funeral Home. Burial will be at the Hartwell-Tutor Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday October 31, 2016 at Senter Funeral Home.
