Russell John Bahney, 45, died Oct. 20, 2016, at Juan Luis Hospital. He was born Aug. 19, 1971, in Peoria, Illinois, to Thomas Bahney and Beverley Johnson. He was a graduate of Austin High School. Russell was an electrician who lived and worked in St. Croix, USVI. He loved Alabama football and NASCAR. He loved his family, friends and most of all the island of St. Croix. He was preceded in death by his parents; nephew, Hunter McElroy; and grandparents, Fred and Mary Ann Alcorn and June Casebolt.
Survivors include his brother, Ken McElroy (Pam) of Hartselle; sisters, Becky Richard (Gerald) of Decatur and Dorothy Potter (Bruce) of Danville; nephews, Trey Richard, Tanner Richard (Scarlet), Thomas Russell (Whitney), Houston McElroy; niece, Summer McElroy; and great-nieces, Lydia Richard and Ada McElroy; and aunts, Marcella Woody, Watseka Farney, Arletta Harris and Annie Fangmeyer.
