Howard “Babe” Pace – Obituary

Howard “Babe” Pace, 84, born January 01, 1932, passed away Monday, October 24, 2016 at his home in Muscle Shoals. Visitation will be Wednesday, October 26, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at Colbert Memorial Chapel with a memorial service immediately following in chapel at 12:00 p.m. Brother Ben Hayes will be officiating. He was a member of Highland Park Church of Christ. Howard was a Veteran of United States Army serving during the Korean War. He retired from Reynolds Metals after 17 years of loyal service.

Babe was a life- long resident of Muscle Shoals, and proud Korean War Veteran. Howard loved to boast of the time he helicoptered with Marilyn Monroe during her USO Tour in South Korea and very proud of his Cherokee Indian heritage. He had a passion for old cars and owned many including several corvettes. He was extremely proud of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, and loved it when they visited him. They never parted without an “I Love You”. Babe will always be remembered for his bright blue eyes and boyish grin. In recent years Howard could be found in his shop building bird houses, swings, benches, or other wood crafts.

Preceded in death by parents, three brothers, and a sister.

Survivors include his devoted wife, Linda Warren Pace; sons, Allen (Dorenda), Tony and Larry (Stacy) Pace; step-children, Justin (Amy) Goad and Melinda (Brian) Privett; grandchildren, Jessica Alcala (Rueben), Tyler Pace (Sarah- Beth), Paige Atencio (Eric), Mikayla, Savanna and Karley Pace, Trey, Trenton and Britley Goad, Libby, Sydney and Kenzie Privett, Ryleigh, Ari, Lexie and Zoie Alcala, and Ty and Mason Pace.
