Phyllis Smith Johnston, 68, went to be with the Lord on Friday, October 21, 2016 after a battle with cancer.
A lifelong Athens resident, Mrs. Johnston was born on May 17, 1948 to Mary Elizabeth Christopher Smith and Clifford O. Smith.
Mrs. Johnston is preceded by her parents and brother-in-law Jeffrey Coats.
She is survived by her husband, Neal Johnston; her daughters, Kim Wilbanks and husband Tim; and Rhonda Robison and husband Bryant; brother, Steve Smith and wife Teresa; sister, Patsy Coats; grandaughter, Beth Ann Robison; step-children, Sally Shelly and husband Mitch; Neal Johnston, Jr. and wife Patti; Genie Woodroof and husband Charles; and Keith Johnston; step-grandchildren, Jacob and Shelby Johnston, Mitchell and Harriet Shelly, and Foster and Johnston Woodroof. She also leaves behind her best friend Patsy Appleton.
Funeral services will be held at Limestone Chapel on Monday, October 24th at 1:00PM, with visitation from 11:00-12:45.
