Service for Walter “Fish“ Stewart Hargett Jr., age 82, of Decatur, will be Tuesday October 25, 2016 at 12:00 p.m. at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Joe Holmes and Rev. A. Ray Lee officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Mr. Hargett, who died Friday, October 25, 2016, at his residence, was born November 12, 1933 , in Tuscumbia, to Walter S. Hargett Sr. and Minnie Lee Thomas Hargett.
Mr. Hargett was preceded in death by his loving wife of 58 years, Martha Ann (Walker) Hargett.
Mr. Hargett served his country in the US Army Airborne division, and was a graduate of Auburn University, he remained a loyal supporter throughout his life.
He is survived by one son Michael Hargett (Bonnie) of Decatur, one daughter, Lisa Wilson (Jeff) of Madison, and five grandchildren, Lindsey Wilson, Annslee Wilson, Shelby Wilson, Elizabeth Hargett and Christopher Hargett.
Pallbearers will be Ed Higdon, Robert Slate, John Wesley Thomas, David Bates Larry Walker and Billy Nunn.
Honorary Pallbearer will be Billy Stewart.
