Austeen Junior Davis, 83, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2016.
Visitation will be Friday, Oct. 21, 2016, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Elkins East Chapel. The service will follow at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Brother Jason Vinson officiating. Burial will follow in Bluewater Cemetery.
Mr. Davis served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He retired from TVA after 26 years of faithful service as a supervisor of the Urea and GCFU Unit. He was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Elizabeth Davis; two children, Anthony (Celista) Davis of Lexington and Angela (Sam) Scoggin of Tuscumbia; five grandchildren, Patrick (Laurie) Davis of Killen, Kyle (Miranda) Davis of Rogersville, Cecilia (Eric) Brumley of Rogersville, Crista (Doug) Corley of Lexington and Cameron Davis of Lexington; six great-grandchildren, Justice, Valor, Evelyn and Stella Davis and Tripp and Piper Corley; one sister, Ann (Benny) White of Arab; brother-in-law, Pete Collier and wife, Nell; sister-in-law, Sue Collier; and special lifelong friends, Herbert and Verta Mae Peters of Loretto, Tennessee; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The pallbearers will be Cameron Davis, Doug Corley, Eric Brumley, Mark Holmes, Twymine Collier and Lance Collier. Honorary pallbearer will be Herbert Peters.
