Mrs. Mildred Smith, age 95, died Sunday, Oct. 16, 2016, at Harborview Nursing Home in Thomaston.
She was born Sept. 19, 1921, in Sharps Chapel, Tennessee to the late Robert Nelson and Viola Owsley. She was a housewife.
Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband, Luther Smith, and son, James C. Smith.
Survivors are son, Thomas (Linda) Smith, of Thomaston, Georgia; brother, Wayne Owsley, of Monroe, Michigan; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Graveside services for Mrs. Smith will be held Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2016, at 2 p.m. CST at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens in Florence, Alabama. Coggins Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements, cogginsfuneralhome.com.
