Dr. Ruth Jones
HUNTSVILLE-Alabama A&M University’s Dean’s Speaker Series for October will be on Thursday, October 20, 2016 at 12:30 pm in Arthur J. Bond Hall, Room 233, Alabama A&M University.
The October Keynote Speaker will Dr. Ruth D. Jones with her topic “Discover Your Passion”.
Dr. Ruth D. Jones is Mishap Investigation Specialist at the NASA Safety Center in Huntsville, Alabama. Dr. Jones performs extensive planning and preparatory work to ensure that mishap investigation teams are trained and available to support the rapid deployment of the Mishap Investigation Team and the effective and efficient conduct of Type A/Type B/High Visibility Mishap Investigations.
Dr. Jones is an alumnus of Alabama A & M University where she received her Doctorate of Philosophy and Masters of Science degrees in Physics/Materials Science. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from the University of Arkansas in Pine Bluff.
Dr. Jones is the second African American woman to receive a Ph. D. in Physics in the state of Alabama, and the first woman to receive a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from the prestigious University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff.
