Elna C. Shackelford , 94, of Florence, left this life for eternal life with her Lord Jesus Christ on October 8, 2016. After retiring from International Harvester (Navistar) in 1982 in Chicago, IL, she and her husband, William Roy Shackelford moved to Florence. She was a member of Underwood Baptist Church.
Mrs. Shackelford was preceded in death by her husband; an infant daughter; parents, O .L. and Martha Yarber; and one sister, Bernelle Yarber Ledbetter.
Survivors include: one sister, Eunice Pace of Florence; one niece, Janice Slay (Bob) of Jacksonville, AL; four nephews, Jim Pace (Penny) of Birmingham, AL, David Ledbetter (Diane) of Tupelo, MS, Bill Ledbetter (Carol) of Tupelo, MS, and Cecil Ledbetter (Mary) of Tinsley Park, IL; four great-nieces; and seven great-nephews.
Services will be held at Greenview Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 11, 2016. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. followed by the funeral service at 11 a.m. conducted by Rev. Doug Farris of Underwood Baptist Church. The interment will follow in Belmont City Cemetery, Belmont, MS at 1:30 p.m. conducted by Jerry Phillips of Underwood Baptist Church.
