Gwin A. Pirkle
Mr. Pirkle was preceded in death by his parents, George and Eula Pirkle and brother, Bill Pirkle.
Gwin is survived by his loving wife, Esta Lee Pirkle, of 65 years. They were married in Decatur, Alabama.
Gwin is lovingly remembered by his sister, Brenda West (Byron West), and his two children, Steve Pirkle (Debbie Lee Pirkle) and Debbie Dunlap (Jeff Dunlap), all of Decatur, Alabama; his grandchildren Daniel Pirkle, Timothy Pirkle (Mallory), Jonathan Dunlap (Emily) and Clint Dunlap (Sarah Beth); his great grandchildren, Lillie Beth and Addalyn Pirkle and Lincoln and Grant Dunlap.
He was born May 25, 1929 in Eva, Alabama. He graduated from Eva High School in 1947, attended Saint Bernard College briefly, then served in the U.S. Army and was retired from Wolverine Tube, Inc. He loved his church, Austinville United Methodist Church, and all of his precious friends there.
Visitation will be Monday, Oct. 10, 2016, from 2 until 4 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home. Funeral Service will follow at 4 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Brother Dallas Culver Jr. officiating and Roselawn Funeral Home directing. Graveside service will follow the funeral service at Roselawn.
