Flora Arlene Freeman, 96 of Arab, Alabama died Wednesday September 28, 2016 at her residence.
Mrs. Freeman was born December 13, 1919 in Blount County, Alabama to Homer Johnson and Catherine Watwood Johnson. She was married to Floyd S. Freeman on December 4, 1976. She enjoyed quilting, canning, traveling and loved spending time with her friends at the Senior Center.
She was a member of New Canaan Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 40 years: Floyd S. Freeman; a son and daughter-in-law: Jackie and Kathi Griggs and a daughter Glennies Griggs; grandchildren: David and Linda Helton, Tammy Bowman, Lisa and Wayne Martin, Kristy Griggs, Jennifer and Daniel Gilbreath, Jeremy Griggs, Jason and Savannah Mann; fourteen great grandchildren; eight great great grandchildren; several step grand children and great grandchildren; step sons and step daughters-in-law: Kenneth and Paige Freeman, Clatis and Linda Freeman and a step daughter and step son-in-law: Diane and Mickey Fagin. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, two sisters, two sons: Clemon Griggs and Joe Griggs; a grandson: Greg Helton and one grandson in law Joe Bowman.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday October 1, 2016 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel with Brother: Dean Elrod, officiating. Burial will be in New Canaan Cemetery with Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, directing.
Pallbearers will be Jeremy Griggs, Wayne Martin, Dakota Helton, Blake Helton, Wes Walker and Cody Walker.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Colton Helton, Jason Mann, Daniel Gilbreath and Clay Helton.
Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Friday September 30, 2016 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel.
