John Fred Smith, Sr.

John Fred Smith Sr., 81, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2016, at Florence Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Visitation will be Friday, Sept. 30, 2016, from noon-2 p.m. at Rogersville Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow in the chapel. Burial will be in Rogersville Funeral Home Cemetery.
Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Susie Smith; daughter, Dedra Box; siblings, Birdie, Robert, Logan, Geneva, Jeanetta, Wallace, Norma, Ruby and Helen; and sons-in-law, Kenneth Roberson and Jimmy Garrett.
He is survived by special friend, Ruth Davis; children, John (Gloria) Smith Jr., Gina Roberson, Greg Smith, Manual (Sue) Smith, and Timothy Smith; grandchildren, Dustin (Christina) Box, Brittney Box-Weeks, John “Trey” Box III, Taylor Smith, Jane Carol (Jonathan) McClain, Tonya (Jeff) Belew, Ashley (Terrell) Brown, and Kendra Roberson; great—grandchildren, Hunter, Hanna Beth, Carter, Katherine, Tannon, T.J. Ansley, and Levi; sister, Ann Garrett; son-in-law, Danny Box; mother of his children, Alice Redding; and numerous nieces and nephews.
